Marfret awarded a medal at the ESG Shipping Awards 2026
On Friday 15 May, Céline Douvenou, Marfret's CSR Manager, and Véronique Passarelli, Director of Operations, were in Athens for the ESG Shipping Awards 2026 ceremony, an international benchmark for sustainability in the maritime sector. These awards evaluate shipping companies from around the world based on rigorous environmental, social responsibility, and governance criteria. Marfret took home the bronze medal, recognising an environmental approach that is both ambitious and pragmatic: a reduction in CO₂ emissions of more than 10% over three years, eco-speed sailing across the entire fleet, rigid sails on the Niolon harnessing the trade winds on the Guiana–West Indies route, delivery of the methanol-compatible Durande, and deployment of the REPCET system for cetacean protection. Concrete actions that reflect Marfret's core belief: environmental performance and operational reliability go hand in hand.See more
