It connects in the West Indies with Marfret\u2019s\nFerrymar service, operated with the <em>Marin<\/em>.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At its beginnings in March 2020, the MPV line\noriginally ran between Le Havre and the West Indies, before French Guiana was\nadded to the route.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cIt\u2019s a game-changer for French Guiana, which until\nnow only received ro-ro traffic in transhipment via Pointe-\u00e0-Pitre. The clients\nare delighted at having a direct, multipurpose service on set days,\u201d emphasizes\nMarfret managing director Guillaume Vidil. Vidil is pleased with the return to\nMarfret\u2019s roots symbolized by the MPV service, the company having always maintained\nits interest in general cargoes and special projects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After spending time in dry dock at Damen Shipyards in\nDunkirk, the <em>Marfret Niolon<\/em> took to\nthe seas again for another five-year stint. It is now fitted with a ballast\nwater treatment system that ensures better protection for marine ecosytems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The \u201cmultipurpose vessel\u201d (MPV) service is continuing\nto expand: after leaving le Havre, the <em>Marfret\nNiolon<\/em> made its maiden port call at Antwerp on 12<sup>th<\/sup> March before\nheading to Pointe-\u00e0-Pitre, Fort-de-France and then south to call at D\u00e9grad-des-Cannes.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the Belgian port, the <em>Marfret Niolon<\/em> berths at the Nova Natie terminal, the break bulk\nspecialist being equipped with a heavy-lift crane and 190,000-m2 warehouse. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Launched in the spring of 2020, Marfret\u2019s MPV service allows the seamless shipment of tractors, yachts, buses and conventional and dangerous cargoes.
